Through the job, Kristo Vusir came in contact with a person who had been to the Austrian ski resort Ischgl and soon after that his symptoms started to appear.

Persistent fever, severe cough and lack of sleep made him sleep over a week.

- I woke up to what appeared in the media as ragnar smoke.

Lost the sense of smell

After getting more difficult to breathe, he went to the hospital and there he was confirmed to be the new coronavirus he was infected with. He and his wife Sofia believe that other family members were also affected. She has had a short fever episode and three of the couple's four teenage children have shown very different symptoms. But one thing they have in common: they have all lost their sense of smell and taste.

- It's very strange. Me and one of the kids can neither feel the aromas nor the flavors since a week back. It's really dead. I've never been to anything like it, ”says Sofia Jansson Vusir.

"Strange not to hug the kids"

Kristo has been home for three weeks and since last Thursday the whole family has stayed home.

- For me personally, the most difficult thing about the situation is being isolated and not being able to participate in everyday life here at home. It is very strange not to be able to hug the children in the evenings, says Kristo.

- At the same time, you know that this is transitory and that we will be healthy, but what it will look like in society is another matter. I hope it will work out for the best and that everyone works together for a positive change, ”says Kristo Vusir.
