Vox has assured that it will donate "in full" the subsidies that its parliamentary group will receive in Congress during the months of March and April to the "coronavirus victims association". This amount amounts to about 230,000 euros. The announcement came after the party was against supporting the initiative presented by other parties, such as the PSOE, to unanimously donate the supplement for travel expenses of the deputies and senators, since there are no face-to-face plenary sessions. This extra represents between 1,000 and 2,000 euros per month for each member of parliament.

The PP, which is open to join this proposal launched by various political parties, has promoted its own initiative by creating a common fund to collect as a donation a part of the salary of all its public offices. Of the thousands they have throughout Spain.

The PSOE, the CUP, Foro Asturias, Junts per Catalunya or the Regionalist Party of Cantabria had leaned throughout this Thursday in favor of not collecting the money for travel to which the deputies have the right to travel to Madrid and were trying to agree that everyone should take advantage of this measure. In fact, the Congress Table plans to study how to apply it at its next meeting.

However, Vox has preferred to stand out. First rejecting this line of action and then challenging others to "do the same" as him and deliver the subsidies that parliamentary groups receive in Congress. That they are much higher quantities than the mentioned complement by displacement.

The fixed subsidy for each parliamentary group amounts to 28,597 euros per month for its operation. To this we must add another 1,645 euros per month for each seat in the group. In the case of Vox there are a total of 52 deputies, so each month the training receives 85,540 euros for this concept. In total they are 171,080 euros. The donation would be for two months. That is to say, almost 228,274 euros.

Regarding the initiative that other parties are working on, Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, has disagreed during a talk with Vox supporters. His justification has been that with that money many of his deputies have to continue paying the rent for the house in Madrid.

Hours after this unchecking, Vox has announced what their donation would be like. The formula has been to keep intact the item each deputy receives and to allocate the full amount received by the parliamentary group.

Abascal has taken advantage of the announcement to charge against public subsidies, which Vox always says will resign until the others do so, because it does not want to compete in unequal conditions. Vox has been asking in recent days that part of the money for the crisis should come from the subsidies received by parties, unions or employers. "Today more than ever it is perceived how these public funds, like those of the autonomous regions, are better protecting the health and life of the people," said Abascal.

Married and all the charges of the PP

On the other hand, the PP is going to establish a common fund so that all public positions donate "part of their salary" and thus help in the fight against the coronavirus "to all those volunteers who are leaving life on the front line" . Something that the party's general secretary, Teodoro García Egea, has also announced.

PP sources have indicated that a meeting of the parliamentary groups will take place on Monday, chaired by Pablo Casado, after which they will give details on this fund "in which both deputies, senators, MEPs as well as regional and provincial deputies and other positions will participate institutional ".

"In addition, we will join any agreement of the Parliaments that involve direct contributions to the organizations that are fighting on the front line against the coronavirus," these sources have pointed out.
