In a televised speech to the Russian people, Putin said: We must realize that the threat of the Corona virus is still present and the height of the epidemic has not passed, neither in the world nor in Russia.
"Of course there is a question that arises, what decisions will we take? I would like to emphasize, that when making decisions we must understand that the threat remains. And as the epidemiologists assume, the world has not gone beyond the height of the epidemic, and our country also."
He added that additional decisions can be taken according to the evolution of the Corona virus situation in the country, and it is possible to reduce working hours.
He pointed out that in light of the current situation in the country, work places and citizens ’incomes must be preserved, indicating that this is a shared priority for the government, the regions and the business sector.
On the work of groceries and places of sale of goods and food products, Putin said that the authorities, medical institutions, pharmacies and commodity stores continue to work.
The Russian President thanked the doctors, volunteers and all those who felt responsible in the fight against the emerging corona virus.
He said in this regard: "... I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you, without exception, and of course, thank the volunteers, the interested and all citizens who have realized personal responsibility in the fight against the epidemic, strict compliance with the recommendations of the authorities and medical professionals, the care of ourselves, the health of relatives, and the safety of others ".
Moscow and several Russian provinces have taken preventive measures to curb the spread of the new Corona virus, and these measures include self-isolation, the closure of public places of presence and other restrictions that impose social exchange.
