A car park located in the Collserola funeral home is being converted into a large coffin depot for people who died of coronavirus in recent days in Barcelona.

Dozens of coffins already occupy part of the three floors of the old car park, which is being conditioned so that it can accommodate more coffins in the face of the saturation of the funeral services of the Catalan capital when burying these people.

An EFE photographer was able to see and photograph Thursday how the coffins accumulate in the parking lot, arranged in rows, waiting to be buried in one of the cemeteries of the city or the metropolitan area of Barcelona.

"It impresses and saddens at the same time," the photographer, veteran and bragado in multiple events throughout his career, has commented on the image of the coffins.

The coffins are kept in this space at a low temperature to avoid the collapse that has been experienced in Madrid and so that the bodies do not have to wait in the health centers until they are transferred to the different funeral homes.
