Sales of national daily newspapers increased by 3% on average over a year, in the midst of the Coronavirus crisis but before the implementation of containment measures, according to data released Thursday by the Alliance for press and media figures (ACPM).

In detail, Les Echos (+ 1.96% to 134,679 copies), L'Equipe (+ 6.77% to 246,777 copies), Liberation (+ 1.38% to 72,043 copies) and Le Monde (+14 , 62% to 349,737 ex) show increasing diffusions.

Conversely, today in France (-6.09% to 91,860 copies), La Croix (-3.88% to 88,661 copies) and Le Figaro (-4.95% to 316,937 copies) have seen their February circulation decrease over a year.

Sales of Le Parisien fell very slightly (-0.17% to 193,185 copies).

On the internet and applications, the circulation of national daily newspapers has increased significantly, according to ACPM / OJD measures.

The Liberation site saw in particular its traffic increase by 48.23% in February. In terms of applications, it is that of Les Echos which recorded the highest increase in visits (+ 73.50%).

The CMPA took advantage of this communication "to salute the entire press which, despite the economic climate and the risks involved, continues to appear". "All of the national dailies as well as the some 200 controlled daily and weekly regional press titles have ensured all of their publications (...) in order to fulfill their primary mission, that of informing," she said. added.
