According to the Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov, this aid was mentioned during the telephone interview on Monday between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump.

Over 200,000 confirmed cases

"Today, when this situation affects everyone without exception and becomes global, there is no alternative to actions in the spirit of partnership and mutual assistance," said Dmitri Peskov on Tuesday at Russian news agencies. Russia has already dispatched several planes last week with virologists, medical equipment, laboratories and mobile disinfection systems to Italy, where the Covid-19 has taken more than 12,400 people.

The United States, the world's leading power, on Wednesday recorded more than 205,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection, including more than 4,500 dead, according to figures from Johns-Hopkins University.
