The statistics, which were included in the statistical book of the Fujairah Statistics Center for the year 2019, showed that "the autism spectrum was the most prevalent among the disabilities recorded in the emirate, followed by mental disability, then (Down syndrome)."

The number of students in the Center for Rehabilitation and Care of People of Determination in the Emirate of Fujairah, who suffered from the autism spectrum, during the past year, 51 students, and the number in the Dibba Fujairah Center reached 17 students. While the total number of "Autism" students in the Rehabilitation and Care Center for People of Determination reached 46 male and female students, and 14 male and female students, at the Dibba Fujairah Rehabilitation Center.

According to the Statistics of Care and Rehabilitation Centers for People of Determination in the Emirate of Fujairah, during the past year, the number of students with intellectual disabilities reached 46 students, and the number of students with “Down Syndrome” reached 38 students, the physical disability of two students, and the multiple disabilities 34 students.

During the past three years, the percentage of people with autism spectrum increased significantly in the eastern region compared to other emirates, as the Center for Rehabilitation and Care of People of Determination in Fujairah and the Dibba Fujairah region recorded the highest percentage of them.

A social worker at a rehabilitation center for people of determination in the Emirate of Fujairah described the rise in the number of people with autism spectrum as "very dangerous", as "it exceeded all disabilities in the region, which necessitated the opening of new classes during the past year."

She emphasized that the center looks after “autistic” patients from their second year, noting that the “autistic child” needs a double effort compared to children with other disabilities, as its treatment requires specialists in behavioral, cognitive, self-care and communication skills, as well as sessions in integration Sensory and pronunciation.

She also stressed the importance of integrating a number of students with “autism” in the center, with its various degrees, “because inclusion contributes to removing names and classifications for groups with disabilities, and gives their families a state of feeling equal and self-confident, which are necessary to focus on serving people with disabilities in their environments, and mitigation of The difficulties they face in adapting, interacting, moving and moving, as it helps to accommodate the largest possible number of students with special needs ».
