"We will handle the number of physical care places"

Intensive work is underway to free up care facilities in the county for a presumed corona peak in the future. In order to free up places, the healthcare system has canceled most planned operations.

In addition, several care departments are now being converted to pure covid-19 departments in Jönköping, Eksjö and Värnamo. In Eksjö and Värnamo, six locations will each open during Thursday with the possibility of expanding to 18 next week. In Jönköping, 18 places will open on the urologist on Monday.

- We will solve the treatment sites before a corona peak. Then staffing is a bigger challenge, says Mats Bojestig, director of health and medical services at the Jönköping County region.

To fix 40-50 intensive care units requires the same number of respirators. And even there are enough, Mats Bojestig thinks.
