"It's crisis and disaster" - the bus industry down to zero

The industry organization Sweden's bus company describes the situation as a disaster.

- It's crisis and disaster. The owner of the bus company calls us and cries. Everything has been tried in contact with banks and creditors, but now it is no longer possible, says Anna Grönlund, branch manager at Sweden's bus company.

The bus companies that normally run commercial traffic with contracts with ferry and airline companies have no runs at all at present.

- The bus companies do not have a single driving because the boats are in port and almost no flights go anymore, says Anna Grönlund at the Swedish bus company.

Other journeys that have also ceased are those run for, among others, organizations and associations.

- For example, trips ordered by PRO, sports associations and even trips to events such as theater and concerts are completely silent. Just a few days ago, the first bus company in Östergötland went bankrupt, and more are waiting for nothing positive to happen. Even companies that are run in the third generation are on the ropes, says Anna Grönlund, branch manager at Sweden's bus company.
