Winds are expected to increase from Thursday afternoon with wind gusts of 21-24 meters per second. In conjunction with heavy rain showers, there may also be talk of storm showers, according to SMHI, which issued a Class 1 warning for large parts of the country on Wednesday. The warning applies to very harsh wind gusts and offshore, in the Kattegatt and Skagerrak, warns SMHI of snowfall.

Train canceled

The Swedish Transport Administration has decided to cancel several train routes during Thursday. The following sections are affected:

  • Uddevalla-Strömstad from 10am and around the clock
  • Håkantorp-Gårdsjö from 10am and around the clock
  • Grästorp-Vargön from 10am and around the clock
  • Halmstad-Värnamo-Nässjö from 12 noon and around the clock
  • Varberg-Borås from 3 pm and around the clock

According to the Swedish Transport Administration, buses should replace the canceled trains, but travelers may expect longer travel times than normal.
