Luanco, 1971. Trainer in 'Campeones', police in 'La Isla Minimal' and photographer in 'Vergüenza', Javier Gutiérrez is now an unscrupulous publicist in 'Hogar', a Netflix film that confinement has made the third most view of the world.

Despite the title, the film is anything but homey. His character at least. In the cruel labor market in which we live, already at a certain age, around 50, you become almost an invisible being. In the film you see how my character is subjected to constant humiliation and he shakes off all that taking revenge as a psychopath. Is genre cinema, like the 'thriller', more social than social cinema itself? School bullying, addictions, invisibility in the labor market from a certain age and how materialism draws us to a very evil place. Do you think, as Siniestro Total sang, that "tranqui, colleague, the society is to blame "? Hell is oneself, we are each of us. Right now we are confined at home and you are also responsible for going out or not going out, for being disciplined, for the news you hear and even for the level of toxicity and anxiety that this can cause you, for how far are you willing to bear, because they contaminate us in a very harmful way. And you bear it? The world in which we live is, for me, very wicked and increasingly unbearable to live. That said, I also believe that a crisis like the one we are experiencing brings out the best in us. And in this case, Spanish society or citizenship is lagging far behind our politicians, who continue to regrettably miss an opportunity like this to close ranks and join. Are we a condemned country? All that is said about cainism ... Envy and selfishness are an endemic evil in our country. And hatred and envy, together, both one and the other, are the horror. Why is so much importance given to what you actors say? I am not an opinion leader nor do I pretend to be one. I am one more citizen who dedicates myself to this and I do not want to be above anything or anyone. We bring culture to all corners of our country and we try to make the best cinema and contribute our grain of sand. Because culture is a balm, it offers us company and makes us freer, smarter. I think that together we can build a better society with better literature, better cinema, better painting ... Do the actors and the rest of those who tell stories have responsibility? I do not want to set myself up as spokesperson for anything or anyone, but it is It is true that we have a responsibility when choosing projects ... Those of us who can choose, I also say this, because very few actors and actresses live on our trade. And with regard to politics? Sometimes it is brown and many times we they split their faces for that very reason. Many other times you become a speaker and for that I do offer myself, I have no problem. What do you think of the Vox campaign saying that "Spain can live without its puppeteers but not without its farmers and ranchers"? Well, it is to fill absolutely everything with shit, turn on the fan and see what we get. Let it splash and see who. I find it regrettable that a party like Vox, also with so many millions of voters behind it and in a crisis like the one we are experiencing, is dedicated to poisoning in this way. It doesn't matter and I don't understand what the objective is. The only thing that people who dedicate ourselves to culture do is, as far as possible and through our work, keep a window and that people can be formed and can live this with a certain peace or normality. Do you think that Does the 'No to war' have to do with it? We are not forgiven and we are also insulted and accused without any regard, in a systematic way. Proof of them is that every time there is a Goya gala there are news media that do not miss the opportunity to come back to mess with us as if we were again with the sign of subsidized millionaires. I understand that it has a lot to do with that demonstration and the times in which Aznar ruled our country, because before there was not this fierce war with people who are dedicated to culture and, more specifically, with that of cinema. Ideology weighs more than in other cases? It seems that we do not have the right to express ourselves or pronounce ourselves about absolutely nothing, when any other person in any field does it and does not make as much noise or is as marked as in the case of an actor or filmmaker. 'Home' is the most watched movie on Netflix in Spain and the third in the world. What do you feel? First, I would like to say that the production is not made to benefit from the confinement in these times so screwed up for all, that its release date has always been March 25 and that it was scheduled to be shown at the Malaga Festival . Taking advantage of this time of confinement, perhaps the viewing will be much more multiplied. That speaks highly of the quality of our cinema and how well we are doing things. And I am proud that our work can relieve or entertain people who are having a hard time, such as this one. Do you think seclusion will be profitable, artistically? I suppose that in many cases creativity will flourish and in many others our fear will flourish , our anguish, our fragility, knowing that we are nothing and that a virus that does not look like much can turn into a real war. What do you think will happen next? The economic state in which we will be - and not only, the soul too - will have consequences that I do not see right now. I do not want to be at all overwhelming or that this becomes a climate of negativity or pessimism, but it is true that it creates all the doubts in the world and makes me come out of this crisis wanting to live. Living in fear is a bitch, although fear is free. But I think we also have to get hooked on life. And that this society really gives importance to what has it. Well, since we run away from negativity, a positive idea, please. There is something good and it is that people come back to meet a lot of cinema ... and a lot of cinema Spanish. I hope we can get up from this one. I am sure that after a while and we recover emotionally from this blow, we will continue in the line of making good productions. Hopefully this crisis brings at least that communion that never had to cease to exist between the public and the cinema we make.
