“A temporary ban is imposed on the export from the Republic of Belarus of buckwheat, buckwheat, onion sets, onions and garlic, regardless of their country of origin,” the statement reads on the legal information website of Belarus.

The restrictions also apply when placed under customs procedures for export, temporary export, processing outside the customs territory and re-export.

It is specified that the ban is introduced for a period of three months.

Lukashenko said earlier that Belarusians do not need to buy food in stores, and noted that with a lack of buckwheat, they will have potatoes.
