Director of Planning and Business at the Public Transport Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority, Adel Shakeri, confirmed to "Emirates Today" that it allows the use of small buses, provided that the number of their passengers is reduced, in compliance with the application of standards and measures taken to prevent and limit the spread of the Corona virus .

Shakeri said that the authority did not prohibit the use of these buses, but it restricted the companies that used these buses and obligated them to the necessity of applying the necessary preventive standards so that it prevents the use of the bus at its full capacity, as well as the obligation to leave a safe distance between the passengers inside the bus .

Shakeri said that in the interest of the health and safety of passengers and in conjunction with preventive measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus (Kofi 19), the Roads and Transport Authority implemented many precautionary measures and intensive hygiene and sterilization procedures on all public transportation, which also includes transportation services in the private sector and companies Tourism, and these efforts and measures come to reach the utmost level of prevention, public safety and ensuring the physical distance between the public .

It is noteworthy that the authority also stopped the Dubai metro service and reduced the number of taxi vehicles during the night period in which the "national sterilization program" is applied from 8 pm until 6 am, as the authority shortened the request for taxis, to be only through the "Karim" and "Uber" applications He added, adding that the authority warns passengers through text messages that taxis must be used for transportation only when necessary, in compliance with the instructions taken at the state level that they must stay in homes .
