Many companies have taken measures to reduce the spread of infection after the corona eruption in Sweden. Grocery stores around the country have been given clear guidelines and have taken various measures to reduce the risk of infection for staff and visitors. TTELA was the first to report on the Willys Food Store in Trollhättan, which has now been fitted with plastic visors at the cash registers to protect both customers and staff from the infection.

- We got it at the end of last week. Our establishment group, which usually works on rebuilding the stores, works to put it in all stores, says Hilmo Kustric, who is store manager at Willys in Trollhättan.

The response of the new protection to the cashiers is said to be positive among both visitors and staff.

Contributes to security

- Concerns about getting infected are great among both staff and customers, the government says we should keep a distance and it is impossible to come from the fact that you are getting close to each other in a payment situation at the cashier. Then it is great that we have these protections set up, it not least contributes to a great security of the staff when they do not need close contact with their customers, says Hilmo Kustric.

The payment is made as usual, except that cash is given through a hole under the plastic disc. Beyond that, not much has been changed by the new plastic visor at checkout.

- The only thing is that the staff hears the customers a little worse, but there is nothing that affects the business so much, says Kustric.

The grocery store has expanded hygiene and cleaning routines

- We have a cooperation with Samhall, they usually clean with us. Now we have expanded the cleaning so they clean toilets and wiping scans and card terminals, baskets and shopping carts several times a day. Even the candy buckets and the handle of the refrigerator doors are dried, says Hilmo Kustric.

The stores also have the same cleaning routines in staff spaces and staff have been given guidelines on how to take care of hygiene both in and behind the store.

Personnel in the risk group have chosen to stay at home and some have chosen to work during less exposed times.

- We can't force anyone to be home. It's entirely up to them, but those who choose to do so have our full support, says Hilmo Kustric.
