The Sudanese Ministry of Health said today, Tuesday, that it was unable to communicate with half of the travelers who came through Khartoum airport in order to be subjected to a corona virus test, in light of all the epidemic cases recorded among arrivals at the airport.

Sudan has recorded seven cases of coronavirus infection and two deaths, and the Ministry of Health stated in a post on its Facebook page that confirmed cases of corona epidemic were people who had flown to Sudan in the period of excluding flights for 48 hours through Khartoum airport.

The ministry added that it examined all arrivals through the airport through a temperature measuring device, and completed forms to communicate with them, but it "was able to communicate only with 50% of the travelers, because the rest of the passengers wrote false information and wrong phone numbers, so we were unable to Follow up on their health, "according to the ministry.

The Sudanese health authorities invited travelers who did not communicate with them to contact the Ministry of Health through a phone number assigned to it.

The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced today the discovery of a new case of coronavirus, for a foreigner from the Emirates who arrived in the country on March 14th.

Previous decisions
Sudan decided on March 12 to suspend its flights to a number of countries affected by the Corona virus, and to ban citizens of those countries from entering the country, namely, Korea, China, Italy, France, Spain and Japan, in addition to Egypt.

Last Wednesday, Khartoum released 4,217 prisoners as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the epidemic. Yesterday, Monday, the authorities announced the postponement of the official certification exams to a date to be determined later as part of the measures to combat the Corona virus.

The aforementioned exams for a large number of students to move from secondary schools to universities and higher institutes were scheduled to start on April 12.
