You don't improvise as a burglar. A 51-year-old man, unknown to the police, had the bitter experience of it at 4 a.m. on Friday in Toulouse. Still, he seemed to have thought of everything. When the police intercepted him outside the petrol station he had just robbed, he had gloves, a hood and a flashlight.
The perfect burglar costume. Except that when he entered through the roof of this establishment in the Mirail district, he did not tell himself that it could have an alarm. After having first loaded a dozen phones with prepaid cards, he was about to leave with cans of oil, a screwdriver, starter cables and medication when he was arrested by members of the territorial surveillance brigade.
Arrested and placed in police custody, he admitted the facts to the investigators. The novice burglar was to be tried immediately.
