A case of controversy among the pioneers of social networking sites in Egypt, sparked by the decision of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to increase the allowance for medical professions by 75%.
Yesterday, Sunday, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Radhi, said, "President Sisi decided to increase the medical profession allowance by 75% over the current value, including doctors working in university hospitals, at a total cost of about 2.25 billion pounds, and create a risk fund for members of the medical profession."
Doctors receive a monthly amount of about 700 pounds (one dollar equals 16 pounds) instead of medical professions, and after the increase is scheduled to reach about 1225 pounds, while nurses get about 450 pounds, and after the increase the allowance will become 750 pounds, dentists, pharmacists and doctors will receive Doctors and physiotherapists at 500 pounds, and after the increase, the value of the allowance will be 875 pounds.
The death of a doctor
The issuance of the decision coincided with the announcement of the death of the first doctor as a result of infection with the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) in Egypt, after he was isolated in Abu Khalifa Hospital in Ismailia Governorate, where he arrived in a critical condition.
Egyptian media said that Dr. Ahmed El-Loah, 50, a professor of medical analysis at Al-Azhar University, received an infection from an Indian worker who was injured and died days ago, and was working in a factory in the investment area south of Port Said.
Egyptian newspapers reported that the tablet sought help from a colleague yesterday to send him an ambulance equipped to transport him to the Quarantine Hospital in Ismailia, after he failed to find a respirator after the virus managed to lung it.
Earlier on Sunday, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 33 new infections in Corona, and 4 cases have died, and they are Egyptians from Cairo Governorate between the ages of 58 and 84 years, after arriving at hospitals in a late health condition.

Doctors' demands
The Corona virus crisis brought up the issue of a contamination allowance for doctors in Egypt, which amounts to only 19 pounds (a dollar less than 16 pounds), as the "white coat" army in the face of danger, especially in quarantine headquarters and hospitals.
The Medical Association has been fighting for years for one of its most important battles with the government to demand an increase in the value of the infection, which has not been any increase for a quarter of a century, as other groups that are not exposed to infection - such as judges - get a allowance of three thousand pounds.
Interestingly, the group of doctors is facing the virus bravely despite the meager infection allowance, while judges suspended work in the courts for two weeks, in the context of guarding against the spread of the virus.
In mid-March, the General Union of Doctors addressed the presidency and the government to raise the value of the infection allowance, especially since they are the most vulnerable to infection, but without a response from the Egyptian authorities.
Solidarity with the doctors was some of the parliamentarians, where MP Thuraya Al-Sheikh demanded that the infection allowance for doctors be raised from 19 pounds to three thousand pounds in the new state budget project for the coming fiscal year, especially as what doctors receive is not commensurate with the health risks they are exposed to by virtue of their profession.
