The Darwin ecosystem, in Bordeaux - M.Bosredon / 20Minutes

After placing “most vulnerable” cases in hotel rooms in Bordeaux on Saturday evening, around forty reception places for SDF will open this Monday, within the Darwin ecosystem. The prefecture of New Aquitaine indicated that on a proposal from the Darwin association, based on the site of the Niel right bank barracks, a hangar will be made available to people living on the street, during the confinement period.

Dogs must be equipped with muzzles

"It will open gradually from Monday between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m." said the prefecture. Twenty places will be available at first. This hangar, "sufficiently spacious" in particular to apply the rules of distancing, ensures the prefecture, will be managed by Darwin who will provide meals and logistics.

Above all, an adjoining garden will allow the reception of dogs, a real problem in this period of confinement. "We hope they will be well equipped with muzzles" continues the prefecture, which adds that it will be responsible for security, by providing a dog handler.

The site will be regularly visited by the Samu social and associations.
