Confinement can turn into a death trap for victims of domestic violence. To cope, the Women's Foundation launched a call for donations. Nearly 320 accommodation places have been made available in university residences. The objective: to help associations across the country in supporting victims.

This is one of the dramatic consequences of confinement: the resurgence of violence against women in the marital home. The official figures revealed last week are edifying: + 32% of reports in gendarmerie areas, + 36% in Paris. When confinement turns into a death trap, women victims can rely on associations that try to help them, despite the health measures of social distancing. The Women's Foundation has therefore launched a call for general mobilization and donations which is starting to bear fruit.

To support associations as well as possible, the Women's Foundation also looked into the working conditions of social workers and volunteers.
