General Central News Agency, United News Network and other Taiwanese media reported that the police said that the gangster fired several shots after entering the bank at 10:40 a.m., and a security guard injured his thigh. The gangster demanded that two bank staff members put their cash in a travel bag, and then escaped after driving for about 800,000 yuan.
Police investigations revealed that the vehicle driven by the gangster was a taxi that had just been reported that day. At 7 am that day, the gangster took a taxi in Beitou District, claiming to go to Bali District, New Taipei City. When the taxi went to the fourth section of Zhongbei Road, the driver got out of the car and went to the toilet. After returning, he found that the vehicle was missing and immediately reported the case.
Police said that because the gangsters were wearing gloves all the time, and there were no other people in the bank except the staff at the time of the crime, the trial was considered a premeditated crime.
