On Monday, Region Jämtland Härjedalen again went out and appealed to those who intended to celebrate Easter in Jämtland or Härjedalen.

- Usually we welcome all tourists and visitors to our fine mountain world with open arms - we also help everyone with the care that may be needed. But this year, because of the corona pandemic, we cannot offer all the care that you as a visitor can normally expect, ”a press release states.

Community infection in the county

The region points out that there is now a social infection in our county as well. Initially, those who tested positive were infected abroad, but now the infection is transmitted between people here in the county.

- Anyone who has stayed isolated in his or her hometown should reflect on whether it is worth breaking their isolation and risk being infected during their mountain vacation, the region writes.

"Difficult to get care"

The region also warns that it can be difficult to get care.

- The care here is highly stressed and strained even a normal Easter. The ongoing pandemic has multiplied the pressure. We expect to have lower staffing both at our health centers and at Östersund Hospital based on sick leave, they write.
