During the past winter the police have had problems with the theft of mast batteries escalating. Since the fall of 2018, some 40 thefts have been reported in the county.
"The investigation may show whether he has been involved in more similar thefts, but this is at least an entry in the investigation," says Lars Hedelin, who is a press spokesman at the Bergslagen police region.
He points out that this type of theft is serious.
- It's not exactly like stealing a TV. This type of theft can have far greater consequences as it can disrupt socially important functions such as telephony.
