The Health Directorate in Minya Governorate, in southern Egypt, revealed that the villages of “Al-Qais and Abu Jarj Bani Mazar” were placed under complete isolation, while a human rights platform published a secret military document that includes instructions to the army regarding the areas where the virus spread.

The decision to isolate the villages of Al-Qais and Abu Jarj in Bani Mazar came after the discovery of 8 suspected cases of corona, who were returning from performing Umrah from Saudi Arabia a few days ago.

The directorate said in a statement today, Friday, that the complete isolation was imposed on all citizens, the nursing team and the doctors inside a hospital in Samalout Center in Minya Governorate, after the arrival of a case of the virus yesterday, until the end of the examination of samples taken from those inside the hospital.

The statement added that all the residents of the villages of Al-Qais and Abu Jarj, which are affiliated to the Bani Mazar Center, were placed under complete isolation by imposing a security cordon around the villages' villages abroad, as part of the precautionary measures taken to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus "Covid-19".

Secret instructions
On the other hand, the #We_Recording team said that it obtained through more than one private source a military document bearing a "very secret" degree that contains a circular directed to all military units around the provinces where the Corona virus has spread widely, which is according to the human rights platform: Menoufia, Damietta, Alexandria, Minya, and Qena.

He said that the circular contained suspension of licenses for the elements inside the units, extending the leaves for the elements outside the units, and subjecting the returnees from outside the units to isolation for a period of 14 days.

He stated that the circular comes in the context of an official blackout and withholding information about the residents of these governorates who are absent from data related to the spread of the virus in them.

He also considered that this behavior indicates that the Egyptian regime and the military establishment still insist on pursuing a policy of lack of transparency, and lack of attention to other elements of the system and members of military institutions, without any consideration for the rest of society.

We Record is a human rights platform that collects data and documents violations by interacting with victims, activists, and civil society organizations.

New deaths and injuries
The Ministry of Health and Population announced on Friday that it had registered 41 new cases infected with Coronavirus, one of which is a US citizen and the rest (40) of Egyptian citizens.

Khaled Mujahid, the minister of health and population for media affairs and official spokesman for the ministry, said that the total number rose to 536 cases, of which 116 were recovered and discharged from the isolation hospital, and 30 deaths.

Mujahid confirmed that all cases infected with the virus in isolation hospitals are subject to medical care, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
