Regular air travel has reduced its frequency to and from the island and, according to a press release, there is a concern that transports will completely cease. Something that would have consequences for, among other things, the transport of laboratory samples from the laser lab in Visby to Karolinska University Hospital. This also applies to sampling of coronavirus.
Now the region and the county administrative board want the government to secure the socially critical transport. According to the request, regular air transport to and from Gotland is essential for the operation of Gotland's medical care.
