Sharjah Charity Association launched its Ramadan campaign with an operating budget estimated at 46 million dirhams, bringing the number of beneficiaries to nearly 735 thousand. The budget includes several projects: fasting Iftar, Ramadan meal, Zakat on money and mushrooms, and Eid clothing.
The Executive Director of the Society, Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, confirmed during a press conference via video communication that the Ramadan campaign will provide about 600,000 breakfast meals this year during the holy month of Ramadan, at 20,000 meals per day, distributed through distribution points in all areas of Sharjah and its cities in Al-Bataeh. And Madam, Dhaid, Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al-Hisn, to avoid crowding and crowding.
He said that the dues of the Ramadan project, Mir, are to be distributed at a value of 3 million dirhams, with a benefit amounting to 3 thousand families, equivalent to 15 thousand people.
He pointed out that a new mechanism has been followed to distribute the dues of the Ramadan project this year, in line with the preventive measures followed in the state, while it was decided to distribute the zakat dues of money at a value of 20 million dirhams, an increase over the previous year amounting to 35 percent, and it is deposited in favor of 6 thousand deserving families , Equivalent to 30 thousand cases via bank deposits.
He explained that the dues of zakat al-Fitr would be disbursed at 15,000 instincts, at a value of 3 million dirhams, to 75,000 beneficiaries. He pointed out the approval of provisions for Eid clothing worth 3 million dirhams to provide ready-made clothes to the estimated number of 3 thousand families, which equals 15 thousand beneficiaries.
He pointed out that 4 million dirhams had been allocated for the release of 100 prisoners as part of the "Grave Evil Project", in cooperation with the General Command of Sharjah Police. He pointed out that the association aims to cooperate with philanthropists to provide 6 million dirhams, to provide treatment to 100 cases during the holy month of Ramadan.
He added that the association follows all preventive measures taken by the state. For his part, Director of Public Relations and Information Ali Muhammad Al-Rashedi said that the society has launched a package of initiatives aimed at needy families to secure their basic needs.
He explained that the initiatives included providing food meals, at 250 meals per day, for students of the University of Sharjah of other nationalities, as well as the distribution of 3 thousand tablet devices to hard-nosed students, through cooperation with the Sharjah Education Zone, the Sharjah Education Council, the Sharjah Special Education Authority, and the Human Services Department, And Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation.
Al-Rashedi added that the initiative package also included the implementation of the “Merck upon us” initiative for families in all regions and cities of the emirate, through dedicated delivery companies according to a mechanism that tracks all prevention measures, in addition to starting the operation of a dialysis clinic to provide washing sessions for patients with kidney failure, in cooperation with Emirates European Hospital.
He explained that the initiatives also included the emigration of 25 prisoners from punitive and correctional facilities, at a value of 500,000 dirhams.
