Regional Director Jane Ydman says that the interest in helping in healthcare is great and that people who lack medical education have also heard.

In the clip, she tells more about how the region can benefit from this help.

Temporary employment

The corona pandemic has led to a clear increase in both sickness and death in the country. In many places, it is said that access to healthcare personnel is the critical factor and the regions have gone out with job ads. In Jönköping County, about 100 applications have been received in the last two days and some people have already been given temporary employment:

- We have a working group that works to match the applications with the needs of the healthcare system, says Jane Ydman.

At the same time, she says that it may take a while before those who have reported an interest in supporting health care receive an answer.

Another deceased

Another person in Jönköping County with covid -19 has died, the region confirms during Friday. This time, too, it is an older person with underlying illnesses. In total, three people with covid -19 have now died in Jönköping County.

20 patients are currently receiving hospital care in Jönköping County due to covid-19. Six of the patients receive intensive care.

Double the number of intensive care units

The Jönköping region currently has 170 vacancies within the healthcare sector, which have been released, among other things, through canceled planned operations. Healthcare is preparing for an increased influx of covid-19 patients. It told the regional council Mia Frisk (KD) at a press conference just before lunch. The region is also working to double the number of intensive care units - today there are 16 places.
