Later in the year, Kinda, Ödeshög and Finspång will also join. Today, Linköping, Norrköping, Söderköping, Valdemarsvik and Åtvidaberg join the rescue service Östra Götaland. Motala and Vadstena have been using RTÖG's rescue center before, RTÖG writes in a press release.

The new municipalities' rescue services, as well as Motala and Vadstena, are thus not included in RTÖG. However, the alarms will be handled through their rescue center.

Better utilization of resources

The reason is that it is believed that collaboration can provide better resource utilization and better sustainability. The smaller rescue services find it more difficult to handle certain tasks on their own, according to RTÖG. This is especially true for major events.

The only Ostgöt municipality outside the collaboration will then be Ydre.
