The Department of Welfare and Rehabilitation of People of Determination in the Ministry of Community Development has prepared weekly plans for each student registered with them in the Rehabilitation Centers for People of Determination, the Early Intervention Program and professional workshops, and they number 915 students, so that they will continue to learn and train, regardless of the type of disability, including Intellectual disability, as part of the Ministry's implementation of the distance education program, which was launched at the level of educational centers and institutions in all regions of the country, as part of preventive measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus.

The director of the Department of Welfare and Rehabilitation of People of Determination in the Ministry, Wafa Hamad bin Sulaiman, told «Emirates Today» that the distance learning program includes all students enrolled in centers with various types of disabilities, which include mental disability, multiple disabilities, and autism, where the type of educational material has been determined Required for each case according to its situation, emphasizing the application of technical and craftsmanship training programs remotely, for students enrolled in professional workshops, such as a workshop “workshops” devoted to training in the production of artwork and other products.

Bin Sulaiman explained that remote training takes place through four tools or methods, starting with sending a weekly training plan through technical means, and following up its implementation with the guardian, as well as preparing a video material that includes a set of different activities using the materials available at home, to enable students ’families to train their children At home on simple skills, such as attention and focus, and constant communication with the guardian to follow the student's development, and guide him to effective methods of its development, in addition to implementing the provision of individual sessions directly via video communication with students.

Students enroll in rehabilitation and education centers for people of determination, from the age of seven years until the age of 18, within six centers affiliated to the Ministry spread in Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, as well as Dibba Al Fujairah. Regarding the details of the methods of teaching children registered in the early intervention program, Bin Sulaiman said that the child's rehabilitation goals are determined by the early intervention specialist, which is required to be applied by the family.

And she added that the person concerned with training the child at home, whether it is the father, mother or brother, applies the plan set and puts a mark "achieved" on the skill that the child succeeds in learning, to add another skill by the specialists.

She pointed out that the application of "My Family with Me" is an electronic portal that guarantees the family's participation in the rehabilitation process, and the generalization of goals within the natural environment.
