A 33-year-old woman was sentenced by the correctional court of Béziers (Hérault) to 5 years in prison, including 6 months suspended, and a 43-year-old man to 4 years in prison, including 1 year suspended, for theft with violence in a meeting, committed on December 31, in Valras-Plage.

The evening of Christmas Eve, they had entered, the hooded face, at the home of an 88 year old woman and her 61 year old daughter, in this seaside resort of Hérault, indicates Raphaël Balland, the public prosecutor from Béziers.

A “family disagreement”

"The man had tied them up with tape while the woman stole some valuables and credit cards which they then tried to use, in vain, at an automatic teller machine", continues the magistrate.

The gendarmes made it possible to identify the accused as the ex-partner of the 61-year-old victim's son. While in police custody, the two respondents had indicated that they had acted "out of revenge in the context of a family disagreement". They were kept in detention.
