The US military announced today, Wednesday, that it is raising the level of health protection in its bases around the world because of the spread of the Coruna virus, while acknowledging the continued increase in the rate of infections among its members.

The Pentagon said it has decided to raise the level of health protection to the second highest level, which indicates continued infection.

The Pentagon announced 53 new HIV cases among US soldiers today, bringing the number to 227.

"The curve is not flat. That is why we have gone to Charlie today (the second highest level) which includes restrictions on large gatherings and includes more social distancing," Air Force Brigadier-General Paul Fredericks told a news conference.

In the same context, the US military leaders told Reuters that the rapid spread of the Corona virus forced the army to restrict the movement of thousands of military personnel in the overseas regions most vulnerable to the virus, such as Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Reuters was informed that more American soldiers are subject to special restrictions, including quarantine, in other parts of the world. However, military leaders operating in Latin America and Africa declined to disclose their data.

The restrictions include about 10,000 US soldiers in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, highlighting the scale of the challenges facing the Pentagon.
