According to the State Duma press service, the amendments were initiated by Vyacheslav Volodin and Pavel Krasheninnikov.

The deputies suggest fines for the violation of the quarantine, which entailed a massive illness, from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles.

The death of a person caused by negligence or associated with the deliberate creation of the threat of mass diseases - a fine of up to 2 million rubles and other punishments.

“For violation of sanitary-epidemiological rules that resulted in the death of two or more persons, it is proposed to punish with imprisonment for up to seven years,” the statement said.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed to submit proposals to tighten liability for violation of quarantine measures introduced to counter the spread of coronavirus.
