(Fighting New Crown Pneumonia) Thai Prime Minister Announces Emergency Law from 26th of this Month

China News Agency, Bangkok, March 24 (Reporter Wang Guoan) Thai Prime Minister Bayu announced on the afternoon of the 24th that in order to prevent the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the emergency law will be implemented from April 26 to April 30. Bayu said after the Cabinet meeting that day that a committee would be set up to be responsible for the implementation of related work.

Bayu said that some measures in the emergency law require the cooperation of the people, while others are mandatory. He advised people to stay at home and reduce travel, especially for those over 60 and children under 5 who do n’t have to go out unless they are required.

He said the government will open more isolation centers and will gradually close more places. If the situation does not improve in the future, further blockade measures will not be ruled out.

Bayu reminded people to be extremely careful when posting on social media during emergencies, and those who spread false information and rumors will be arrested and prosecuted. Similarly, those who take advantage of the price will be punished.

Recently, confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia in Thailand have surged. As of that day, there were 827 confirmed cases nationwide, of which 4 died and 57 were cured and discharged. (Finish)
