The law shall impose imprisonment and a fine not exceeding 10 thousand dirhams, or one of these two penalties, for persons who refuse to inform the concerned authority whenever they know or suspect that any person has died or died of any of the communicable diseases within 24 hours.

For its part, the Ministry of Health and Community Protection stressed the importance of all community members adhering to health guidelines, warning against breaching the requirements of the home quarantine, or violating the law on communicable diseases.

In detail, the Ministry of Justice stated that the penalties stipulated in the Communicable Diseases Act aim to protect public health and enhance the efforts of the state in implementing the strategy to combat communicable diseases and prevent their spread, including the Corona virus.

The same penalty applies to anyone who refrains from going to the Ministry or the health authority to receive treatment, advice and awareness of the risks of infection and methods of transmission when knowing that he has a disease that is in effect, and to everyone who does not adhere to preventive measures, implement prescriptions and adhere to the instructions given to him, with the aim of preventing Transferring the infection to others.

A penalty of imprisonment for a period not exceeding 5 years and a fine of no less than 50 thousand dirhams and no more than 100 thousand dirhams, or one of these two penalties, is any person who knows that he suffers from a communicable disease and intentionally comes with any behavior that results in the transmission of the disease to others, and in the case of repeated The violation doubles the prison sentence.

The law takes into account the rights of people with communicable diseases, specifying their duties, and specifies ways to report communicable diseases, the procedures to be followed when they are discovered, and the procedures for controlling them, in addition to the conditions of isolation, quarantine, and procedures to which those coming to the state from the injured, or suspected of having these diseases.

The law put seven prohibitions on those infected with any of the communicable diseases, as it prohibits the person who knows that he is infected with or suspected of having any of the communicable diseases to travel or move to any place other than the health facility, except with the approval of the Ministry of Health or the concerned authority, and a ban on any coming know An injured or suspected of a communicable disease must enter the country only after informing the Ministry of Health or the health authority, and obtaining its approval, and those coming from the affected countries are subject to the necessary measures determined by the Ministry of Health or the health authority, to ensure that they are free of diseases.

For his part, the legal advisor, Mansour Al-Mazmi, affirmed that the penalty for violating the communicable diseases law ranges between imprisonment and a fine of 10 thousand dirhams, the penalty for not informing the competent authorities of the existence of an infected person, and up to 5 years in prison and a fine of 100 thousand dirhams for those known to be infected with the emerging coronavirus and transmitted between people With the intention of spreading the disease.
