Among other things, Anders Tegnell responded to criticism that the Public Health Authority's line with its own responsibility for stopping the spread of infection can be perceived as unclear.

- Our entire organization, our infection prevention team, is based on our own responsibility. You can work at home and avoid unnecessary social contacts. I don't think it's unclear.

- We all realize that we will not be able to remove all social contacts. We are trying to reduce them so that we can spread this infection as slowly as possible. That is the big goal.

Hard at restaurant

However, Ander Tegnell believes that there are environments where it is difficult for the individual to take this responsibility himself, for example in a restaurant environment, where one is left out of how the place itself is organized.

This is also the reason why the government today introduced new restrictions in the fight against the spread of infection. This is through a regulatory framework where restaurants, bars and cafes should in principle only be allowed to serve food and drinks at a seated table.

"Don't greet Grandma"

When asked how to think about travel in the country, Tegnell replied:

- Are you going to go and visit grandma in Jämtland, so no. It is not a good idea now. If you are going to a place where lots of people can meet, think again. In this environment, you can both get a virus and transmit it. But should you go out to your cabin somewhere and live there with your family without being in contact with others, then that's ok.

- Our strategy has two legs. Secondly, reducing contact between sick and healthy people. So stay home if you are ill and stay at home until you have been healthy for two days. That's the basics. First, protect our elderly. It is very important. Everything is about reducing the spread of infection and making it go slow.
