“For special labor services to the state and the people to confer the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation to Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation,” the text of the decree says.
Earlier, Sergey Lavrov told how his career as a diplomat began at the USSR Embassy in Sri Lanka, where he worked from 1972 to 1976.
March 21 Lavrov celebrates his 70th birthday. He has been heading the Foreign Ministry for over 16 years.
