Today, Saturday, the new government in Slovakia was sworn in a ceremony that saw all attendees wear protective masks to protect against the emerging infection of the Coruna virus (Covid-19).

The "ordinary people" party of new Prime Minister Igor Matovich led an anti-corruption campaign during last month's general elections.

The Ordinary People’s Party heads a government coalition along with three other parties, including the right-wing "We are a Family" anti-immigration party.

The new ministers were sworn in before President Susanna Kabutova, wearing protective masks, in a gesture of advice to citizens on how to protect themselves from the Coronavirus when leaving their homes.

The ministers of the new government took group photos in masks.

The Slovak government has required citizens to wear masks when entering buildings or using the transportation network.

The central European country has reported 137 cases of the virus.

In remarks after the swearing-in ceremony, Matovic called for solidarity: “We do not know how long this crisis will last and what its consequences will be. We just know that we have to face this most serious challenge together. ”
