The computer gaming platform Steam hit record this weekend. During Sunday afternoon, more than 20.3 million players worldwide were connected to the service simultaneously, which is the highest figure in the service's 16-year history.

Earlier records have been set in connection with major game launches, but this was not the case this weekend, thus indicating that it is the coronas center that made people stay home and devote themselves to games.

The Hollywood Reporter website also reports that gambling in the US last week increased by 75 percent during the hours of the day when gambling is usually the most intense.

Even when it comes to ordering home food, the shops seem to be rolling.

- Right now we see extra sales volumes due to covid-19. We make it easier for people's everyday lives and we can see that demand continue to increase, says Mikael Messa, Marketing Manager at Foodora.

At the same time, restaurants are losing out on visitors around the country, but the food can partly continue to be delivered through companies such as Foodora, Wolt and Uber Eats.

- One reason may be that people work from home and order home food. We have therefore launched a new service where you as a customer can have the food left at the door, so that you do not have the risk of infection, says Carl Zetterkvist, Sweden's manager at Wolt.

Pharmacies also stand up well in times of illness. But the prevailing situation where many people want to buy medicines and hoard medicines has meant that pharmacies have to limit how much fever reduction they sell to each customer, as SVT has previously reported.

- It's a very crowded situation. The pharmacies must keep open. So we have not been able to calculate sales, but these are large volume increases, says Johan Wallér, CEO of the Swedish Pharmacy Association.

E-commerce has also increased for the country's pharmacies, and they are struggling to catch up with the deliveries.

- There is no shortage of medicines. When you see empty shelves with us, it just means that we have not yet unpacked new ones.

At the same time, the pharmacies are looking for more staff to be able to relieve the pressure, but this is not entirely easy as some training is required from the staff. On Thursday, SVT News Uppsala reported that the online pharmacy Apotea has hired 100 new people.
