At the microphone of Europe 1, the psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Serge Hefez returns to the confinement decided on Tuesday to try to stem the spread of the coronavirus in France. He calls for compliance with the instructions of the health authorities, stating that this long confinement can be relatively well experienced by planning for the future.

According to professor Jean-François Delfraissy, invited on our antenna this morning, the measure decided by Emmanuel Macron Monday could be extended by several weeks. But how can we cope with such conditions?

"It is very important to tell yourself that we are not in danger"

At the microphone of Europe 1, Serge Hefez, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, explains that it is necessary to "keep reason", and affirms that if the containment measures are respected and that everyone follows these instructions, the epidemic will be stopped. "So it is very important that people tell themselves that they and their children are not in danger," he said.

"Once we have said that, we must ask ourselves how we are going to 'take advantage' of this new element to rethink the family, family ties, ties to children," continues the psychiatrist. Confinement can therefore be used "to take time, to know what our values are, and to wonder what will change in our lives when we get out of this story".

"You have to be able to structure time and anticipate things", justifies Serge Hefez. "There is a before and after the epidemic. Here we are in the pendant, we are a little bit contracted," he explains, but it is better by structuring the time and thinking about the after and speaking of it, continues the psychoanalyst.

CORONAVIRUS ESSENTIALS

> What do we know about the lifespan of the epidemic?

> Update on the exit permit required to travel

> How long are we contagious?

> How to obtain a compensated work stoppage in order to keep your children?

> Our advice if you are sick at home

Another piece of advice given by Serge Hefez: respect the measures prohibited by the health authorities. "We must all be united against the same enemy. The enemy, it is not the police who stop you in the street to ask you for a paper or a pass, the enemy is this virus which we all have to fight against. So we have to put all our energy and all our strength to do this work together ", he concludes.
