In the context of confinement, the government is seeking to ensure the protection of victims of domestic violence. In a video posted on her Twitter account Friday, Nicole Belloubet says that court decisions and wiretapping platforms will work despite the closure of the courts and call centers.

As the courts and call centers are closed due to the coronavirus epidemic, the Keeper of the Soles Nicole Belloubet posted a video on Friday to her Twitter account, reaffirming the government's involvement in the fight against violence "intra-family" and that even in period of confinement.

Because confinement can unfortunately also generate #family violence. Protecting #victims is # priority.

"A priority for the courts"

"Violent spouses can find the opportunity to take action." Nicole Belloubet, looking serious, is afraid of witnessing a resurgence of domestic violence with the obligation of confinement. In her message, she said that the treatment of violence remains "a priority for the courts": "It is impossible to impose cohabitation when there has been intra-family violence. The judges are there, necessarily, to pronounce the ’eviction of the abusive spouse, a ban on contact, to give a protection order."

Telework shift

The Minister of Justice has also proposed solutions for victims, including that of listening platforms. They should nevertheless suffer from confinement.

On the same day, Marlène Schiappa also announced in a press release that the wiretaps, government platforms, support in emergency accommodation and the criminal trials against the attackers would be maintained. But 3919, the national number for women victims of violence, is still trying to negotiate the shift to telework. According to information from AFP, it should operate again on Monday.
