Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced that 3,500 volunteer doctors have responded to the call to arms in health to combat Coronavirus: "Yesterday we launched an extraordinary appeal to create a task force of 300 doctors who can operate in regional health structures, strengthening the action of those who in these hours is exposed in the front line to fight against Covid-19. There are already over 3,500 doctors who have responded to the appeal, a number that is growing hour by hour ". .


The premier then commented: '' A strong signal of solidarity and a spirit of service which once again testifies to the extraordinary courage of the national community. In such a difficult moment, this is yet another generous answer that all of us Italians can be proud of '', concluding: `` Thank you all, heroes in a white coat ''.

Volunteer doctors who will be part of the task force are provided with accommodation, a daily allowance and reimbursement of expenses.
