The Biarritz-Pays Basque Mixed Airport Union took this decision after having noted that "daily traffic is now limited to a few dozen travelers" and "that the airlines' program is being reduced day by day (up to -95% on the Air France short-haul network) ".

Pau airport "will host the only daily Air France flight connecting Paris to our territory from Monday," continued the Syndicate. The airport "however remains operational and open to public air traffic for all emergency operations as well as private flights".
