The Tunisian Ministry of Defense announced today, Friday, the suspension of all operations and procedures related to recruitment to the national service.

The Ministry also decided to suspend all open-ended recruitment and promotion debates until further notice.

According to the Tunisian News Agency, the decisions fall within the consideration of the general health situation in the country, and in order to make them take place in conditions that guarantee protection and safety for those concerned, and according to the issuance of the government decision regarding the consideration of infection with the new Corona virus (Covid-19) of the category of communicable diseases.

Tunisian President Qais Saeed announced last Tuesday that a curfew had been imposed in the country, as a precautionary measure aimed at combating the spread of Coronavirus.

Qais Saeed said, in a direct address to the people, that the order was issued to the armed forces and security units to conduct joint patrols throughout the entire territory of the republic.

Qais Saeed called on the Tunisians to stay with their homes for several days, to prevent them from contracting the virus.

The Prime Minister, Elias El-Fakhfakh, also called on Tunisians to respect quarantine in order to combat the virus, stressing that it is necessary to implement self-quarantine, and that failure to respect this measure is a crime punishable by law.
