Corona: 100,000 injured in Europe, stone, and travel bans in the United States and Asia

The number of people infected with the new Corona virus in the European continent has exceeded one hundred thousand, while the virus has so far killed about ten thousand people around the world.

Italy also surpassed China and became the first country in the world in terms of the number of deaths due to the virus, followed by Iran and Spain. The number of deaths in Italy reached 3405, exceeding the number of deaths recorded in China, which is 3245.

Also, for the second consecutive day, the Chinese authorities did not register any new local infection, and Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province and the epicenter of the disease, did not witness any new cases.

In Britain, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that his country would change the course of confrontation with the virus within the next 12 weeks, and asked the British to adhere to the current strict measures, including isolating themselves and working from homes, and not going to public places.

The Spanish government also ordered the closure of all hotels in the country and announced the application of special procedures in care homes after the high number of people infected and dead due to the virus.

In Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a decree today to postpone all activities related to science, culture and the arts, in light of the government's efforts to contain the number of cases of corona, which rose to 359 people yesterday since the announcement of the first case last week.

United State

In the United States, the governor of California decided yesterday to impose a stone on the entire state and its 40 million people, in order to strengthen efforts to combat the Corona virus.

The Los Angeles mayor also ordered a stone be imposed on all of the city's four million people, asking them to refrain from any unnecessary movement, in an effort to stem the spread of the virus.

For his part, the Mayor of New York said that the city alone cannot cope with the outbreak of the virus, and that military assistance is needed to control its spread.

The state of Washington also recorded eight new deaths due to Corona, which raised the number of deaths to 74, the largest in any US state.

And American media reported that the authorities raised the travel alert abroad to the fourth degree.

The State Department called on Americans living abroad to return immediately as travel is still available, unless they intend to remain in those countries for an indefinite period.

Johns Hopkins University also announced that the death toll from the Corona virus in the United States had risen to 205, and infections to more than 14,200. And media outlets reported the first infection of a State Department employee in Washington.

US President Donald Trump participated in the Corona Anti-Corona Task Force meeting with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, with state governors participating over the phone.

Trump confirmed during the meeting that the Food and Drug Administration agreed to use a drug that is already on the market intended to treat malaria.

He added that the vaccine against the Coronavirus will require time to test it, before allowing it to be given to people.

The White House canceled the upcoming G-7 summit at Camp David, and contented itself with a video conference due to the virus.

Trump also discussed with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron the efforts to combat the virus and agreed to cooperate to find a solution to the epidemic and reduce its economic impacts.

The leader of the Republican majority in the US Senate, Mitch McConnell, presented proposals of a trillion dollar economic stimulus to counter the impact of the virus.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the temporary closure of the border between Canada and the United States is expected to take effect on Friday night, in a move aimed at preventing "unnecessary" movements and limiting the spread of the virus.

Arably

Several countries are witnessing strict precautionary measures in anticipation of the spread of the virus. The Algerian Ministry of Health announced that the number of deaths has increased to nine, after registering a new death in Medea.

The media also reported that the passengers and crew of the ship were quarantined bearing the name "Tariq Bin Ziyad" and it was coming from the French city of Marseille, with 746 passengers and crew of 130 people on board.

In Tunisia, the delegate of the Ministry of Health in Sousse Governorate announced the registration of two deaths from the Corona virus. The Ministry of Health also announced the registration of ten new HIV infections.

The Moroccan Ministry of Interior imposed a health emergency and restricted the movement in the Kingdom from yesterday evening indefinitely.

For its part, the government in Mauritania announced the extension of the closure of all schools and universities in the country until next April 5, as part of measures to prevent corona virus.

In Egypt, the authorities said yesterday that they would close all cafes, commercial centers, sports clubs and night clubs to reinforce measures aimed at containing the outbreak of the virus.

Egypt has so far recorded 256 cases of Coronavirus, including seven deaths, and health authorities said 42 people recovered after receiving treatment.

As for Saudi Arabia, I decided today to suspend all domestic flights, buses, taxis and trains for a period of 14 days, starting tomorrow, Saturday.

It also prevented gathering and praying in the grounds of the Two Holy Mosques, especially on Friday, to limit the spread of the Corona virus.

The Kingdom announced last Tuesday that it would stop praying inside the mosques, but at that time it excluded the Holy Mosque and the Holy Mosque. The Malaysian government also said it will deploy army forces from Sunday to help police enforce movement restrictions to contain the spread of the Coronavirus.

In Afghanistan, the Afghan Minister of Defense proposed yesterday evening to the Taliban to establish a cease-fire, in order to defend against the Corona virus, which is feared to spread widely in this country whose health system is deteriorating after four decades of war.

Latin America

On Thursday, Peru recorded the first three deaths from the Corona virus, at a time when the government announced a significant increase in the number of HIV infections that reached 234.

Brazil also closed, on Thursday, by ministerial decision for 15 days, all its land borders, except for the borders with Uruguay, in an attempt to curb the spread of the virus.

On Thursday, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez imposed a "preventive and compulsory" stone on the population from today to March 31, to combat the virus.

The Corona virus outbreak also postponed the referendum on constitutional amendments in Chile.

On Thursday, El Salvador announced the registration of the first case of the emerging coronavirus.

And Panama, which includes the busiest airport in Central America, announced Thursday that it will suspend from next week, and for a month, all international flights, in an attempt to curb the spread of the new Corona virus.

Australia

In Australia, the number of deaths from infection with the emerging coronavirus has risen to 7, while infections have risen to 756.
