A four-way summit was held on Tuesday via video conferencing between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Erdogan participated in the summit from his whereabouts in the "Waheed Eddine" palace in Istanbul, and discussed with the leaders several international files.

The most prominent topics discussed were ways of cooperation and joint action to confront the Corona virus, ways to solve the Syrian crisis, ways to deliver humanitarian aid to Idlib, the asylum seekers crisis, recent developments in Libya, and Turkey's relations with the European Union.

On Monday, Erdogan met the President of the European Commission, Urzula von Derlin, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, in Brussels, after he announced the opening of his country's borders to refugees and migrants, a declaration that led to an influx of thousands towards the Greek border.

It is reported that Istanbul was scheduled to host the Quartet summit, but the spread of Corona virus prevented this, which led the leaders to hold the meeting through the European circle.
