The Chinese presidency of the UN Security Council announced the cancellation of the two meetings that were on the council's agenda for this week, due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

And after it was decided last week to cancel the Security Council meetings, the Council was supposed to discuss today the file of the Darfur region in western Sudan, and tomorrow the file of multilateralism, in two sessions where no decision was expected during them.

A spokesman for the Chinese delegation to the United Nations, Guan Sun, said in a brief statement that "there will be no sessions this week," stressing that "the council continues to work at the same time."

The statement added that «Council members will continue contacts and consultations on the files on the agenda».
