It was the laughter that first caught the attention of the police. This Tuesday, the manager of a bar in Nogent-sur-Marne, in Val-de-Marne, was fined when he welcomed customers into his establishment, despite the ban announced on Saturday by the Premier Minister, Edouard Philippe. The authorities are thus seeking to contain the epidemic of coronavirus which is currently raging in the territory.

According to a police source, the officials were intrigued by the loud voices rising from this apparently closed bar. Going around the premises, they see a man rushing through the back door, overlooking the kitchen, to reach the establishment. Inside, they discover the manager and five customers, beers in hand and playing darts. The manager, who admitted the facts, was fined.
