“Bearing in mind the difficult epidemiological situation that is developing in the world, and in one way or another is not as acute as in other countries, but, nevertheless, affects our country, we will only vote if this situation allows to hold such events, ”he said. His words are quoted by Interfax.

The head of state noted that with “the whole importance of the changes,” there is “nothing more important than the health and life” of citizens.

“We will look based on the current situation, as I said,” he added.

He did not rule out the postponement of the voting deadlines, if the situation requires it, the agency said.

“In countries where the situation is much more complicated than ours, however, political events of this kind are not refused from elections in these countries,” he said.

According to him, it is pointless to sign a "decree without a specific date."

“But I repeat once again: the law does not limit us, does not limit us ... If the situation requires, we will postpone this all-Russian vote at a later date,” Putin said.

Earlier, the Russian president signed a decree appointing a vote on April 22 to amend the Constitution.
