- It is quite natural for people to jump off because our members are quite old age. We have people who are both 75, 85 and even 90 years, so it is natural that they do not want to be part of it, says Tomas Montelius, chairman of the Art Round in northwestern Skåne.

Konstrundan turns 26 this year and has never before arranged his collection exhibition. But following a directive from the Public Health Authority that 500 people should not be staying in the same place, they are now set.

- We have a strong feeling that it can be changed to 50 people, 10 or even nothing. So we took our social responsibility and shut down the collection exhibition, because we do not want staff or visitors to become infected, he says.

Fewer participants

In total there are 180 members. Usually 150 members usually join the round, but this year 121 people reported their interest in participating.

- Now about half, between 40 and 50 participants, are to be included. I think it's pretty sad. On the other hand, it is more sad that this corona virus is haunting. You cannot take this into account personally, but you must follow the rules that apply, Tomas Montelius.

Is there not a risk of contagion when participants open their homes?

- There always is. But as an association we take no more responsibility than to set up the collection exhibition. Then each member will be responsible for their actions, he says.

Losing financially

Since August 2019, they have worked hard for this year's round with, among other things, advertising and building websites. This year's set collection exhibition will affect the economy.

- We have gone on a financial crack here. We lose revenue on entry and lose a lot of money, but we have a strong economy so we can continue for another year without blinking, says Tomas Montelius.
