Housing and staff at senior housing in Flens municipality infected by corona

A case of coronavirus was found in one of the staff of an elderly residence in the municipality after being tested for the infection on Sunday.

And after the municipality, together with the infection control, followed up the case and conducted tests, it was also found that the coronavirus infection of four people living in the elderly housing.

The municipality states that the relatives are informed of the situation.

Flens municipality writes in a press release that the employee had symptoms but mistook them for asthma.

Now, Flen is closing the Bron and Dagrehab operations until further notice to relocate employees, so that operations in the other administration can continue to be conducted as usual.

The municipality will work to provide the affected businesses with additional protective equipment such as mouthguards and goggles.

"Our mission is to maintain our operations and we are following closely the instructions we receive from infection control doctors in Region Sörmland and by the Public Health Authority," says Iris Pettersson, Head of Administration, Social Administration.
