In a press release, AB Volvo writes that the financial impact is related to the general situation after the corona eruption. The vehicle manufacturer sees risks in three areas.

On the one hand, it is about local authorities' decisions that can lead to under-staffing in factories.

Secondly, there may be disturbances in the supply chain.

- There is also a potential impact on demand in the future. It's an uncertainty, where is the business cycle going, says Claes Eliasson.

Stop in France

In France, AB Volvo's four factories stop manufacturing Renault trucks. 4,500 employees are there job-free following restrictions from French authorities in the fight against the spread of the corona.

- But we maintain service and maintenance for socially important vehicles, says Claes Eliasson.

Uncertainty in Sweden

In Sweden, production continues in the factories in Gothenburg, Borås, Skövde and Vara. But they too can be affected.

Could there be a production stoppage even in Sweden?

- I can't speculate on that today. It is driven by the continued spread of the corona virus and its consequences, says Claes Eliasson.

AB Volvo has production in 18 countries.
